Meet Dr. Lau

If I am not in the office, you can find me outside enjoying the world around me.  I have a passion for fishing and road cycling.   My favorite fishing spot is a lake in Mexico called Lake Guerrero.   I caught the most beautiful fish there.  In Texas, I rode in the “Texas Hotter than Hell 100” century ride.  That was an experience of a lifetime.

Every year or so my family and I have a great tradition of the classic Disney World vacation.  Any chance I get to ride the Tower of Terror, I take it.  That is a trip I look forward to as my extended family is starting to live in separate states. This gives us a chance to gather together and enjoy each other’s company.

I had the amazing opportunity to travel to the Mediterranean for four weeks a few years ago.  I visited Rome, Italy, Greece and the surrounding areas.  What an experience!  I would love to take that trip again.

“Before I became interested in dentistry I was pursuing a PH.D., from the University of  Oklahoma, to eventually become an educator. I taught undergraduate students in the subject of chemistry and the associated laboratory courses. While juggling teaching I also performed research in the field of genomics studying malaria and the interaction with its vector, the mosquito.  I decided to switch to a masters degree and pursue a career in dentistry. My decision to join the dental profession was based on patient interaction, especially the continuity of care and allowing me to express my creativity through restorations. Because the field of dentistry is so broad, I completed a one-year residency in Utica, NY to learn how to deliver dental care to the medically complex and to further my dental knowledge.

I’m excited to have the opportunity to be practicing dentistry in beautiful Monument, CO.  Baptist Road Dental is a beautiful office and a perfect place to meet new patients and deliver great care. I look forward to becoming a fixture in the community for years to come.
